"The Eternal Constitution of Quran" by Ayatollah Jaffer Subhani

Ayatollah Jaffer Subhani (May Allah prolong his life) has probably made the first comprehensive and organized effort at what has come to be known as "Thematic Exegesis of Quran" . The traditional pattern of Quranic exegesis which forms the basis of almost all well known and famous exegesis of Quran is to start from the beginning of The Quran and explain the verses and surahs in the order in which they appear in The Book. Thus the exegesis starts with the first verse of Surah Fatiha and ends with the last verse of Surah Naas. Ayatollah Jaffer Subhani has attempted to change this trend.                            VELAYAT-E-FAQIH This topic is arguably one of the most discussed and most controversial topic in the contemporary Shia political thought. The concept emerged on the world scene following the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 when the leader of the revolution Imam Khomeini took over the reigns of power. Imam Khomeini was the one who presented this concept to contemporary world and his concept formed the basis of the constitution of the Islamic Republic. My late father had an immense interest in this subject and he often used to discuss it with my cousin brother Justice (Retd) Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain and I used to be a spectator in these vigorous discussions. It is from these sessions that I have developed a passion for trying to understand the concept. So naturally the first step is to go to the original

" Culture and heritage are not about stones and buildings, they are about identities and belongings . They carry values from the past that are important for the societies today and tomorrow. We must safeguard the heritage because it is what brings us together as a community; it is what binds us within a shared destiny"  Irina Bokova (1)       The two images above are graphic representations of the problem I want to highlight in this post. The image below is the image of Baqee cemetery as it was before it was vandalized by the Wahabi, Saudi regimen. The image above is it's current status not only demolished but chained and guarded. This is classical example of " CULTURAL GENOCIDE" which continues till today unabated. WHAT IS CUTURAL GENOCIDE:   Genocide is generally understood as destruction with the intent to destroy a racial, religious, ethnic or national group. This definition emphasizes the physical elimination of the group which is the target
